Machowicz

Adam Machowicz, MD, is a physician, a specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care. He studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the Military Medical Academy in Lodz. In 2003, after the academy was disbanded, he graduated from the Medical University of Lodz. Since 2005, he has been pursuing specialty training – first at the 10th Military Clinical Hospital in Bydgoszcz, and since 2007 at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw (WIM), under the watchful eye of Dr. Andrzej Pasiak, who has trained many anesthesiologists, including those working with Dr. Szczyt’s Clinics. He gained his professional experience while still serving in the 13th Elbląg Anti-Aircraft Regiment, working at the Military Hospital in Elbląg, the MSWiA Hospital in Olsztyn and the Medical Rescue Teams in Dobre Miasto, Olsztyn and Warsaw. Since obtaining his specialization in 2011, he remained professionally attached to the WIM. Until 2017, he performed duties in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, under the wings of Prof. Zbigniew Rybicki, MD, and Andrzej Truszczyński, MD. His tasks during this period included performing anesthesia procedures for all hospital departments and working in the Clinical Intensive Care Unit. In 2017, he temporarily served as Head of the Department of Combat Field Medicine and Medical Simulation, where, with a small, resourceful and committed team of great people, they created the first high-fidelity medical simulation center in the Polish Armed Forces. To this day, in this center, medics have the opportunity to verify and improve their skills in conditions close to the real world. From 2017 to 2019, as a senior specialist, he performed duties in the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Subdivision at the WIM Department of Cardiac Surgery, where he dealt with some of the most fragile patients in his life. Since the beginning of his medical adventure, in addition to working with patients, he has had the pleasure of teaching as a lecturer and instructor, in specialized and specialty training for medical and non-medical, civilian and military health care personnel. I have co-authored several publications and authored more than a dozen national and international presentations in the fields of anesthesiology and intensive care, emergency medicine, field medicine and medical simulation. From 2016 to 2019, he was a member of the team implementing medical security for high state officials. He has been working with the team led by colleagues Dr. Mark Szczyt and Dr. Michal Charytonowicz since 2012. Privately, he is the husband of a patient wife and the father of three wonderful children.
